Our Approach

The first thing you’ll notice about Cairn & Cove is the fact that we’re not fresh-faced travel influencers who post annoying beach pics then ask you what you’re doing with your life. We take a much more serious, realistic approach and talk about what matters. Think of us as travel influencers for grown-ups.

Secondly, we absolutely do not focus on our own experiences, opinions etc. In many cases, we haven’t even visited the places we write about.

But what we definitely don’t do is scrape tips and advice from elsewhere, or, heaven forbid, using AI to plug the experience gap. Instead we use a blend of extremely detailed research, people on the ground (including our amazing network of tour guides and experience providers) and an aggregate of community discussion. The focus is firmly on hard facts and overall consumer experience, rather than what a 20-year old in a bikini hanging off the side of a temple in Bali thinks.

That doesn’t mean we’ve visited loads of places (actually, we’ve visited loads of places come to think of it); it means we understand what is important and what isn’t on any trip. Our team is made up of a blend of travel journalists, content specialists and digital marketers, all of whom are both deeply passionate about travel and deeply passionate about creating something helpful and useful.
